Mozart: (1756-1791) He was a musical genius. He was also a drunk and spent all his money on booze and wild parties. He even wrote his own requiem. Tchaikovsky: (1840-1893) He was gay. But still married this lady, but knew it was a mistake from the start. When he ran away from her, she tried to get all his friends and family against him. She sent him requests of large sums of money and lots of blackmail too. She was later put into an insame asylum where she spent the rest of her life. Mussorgsky: (1839-1881) Was an alcoholic. Being drunk was the only way he could deal with being lonley, fustrated, etc. He had reaccuring attacks on health, and had many mental breakdowns with threats of insanity. He was also considered the greatest natural genius that Russian music provided. When he finally died, he died in poverty. Offenbach: (1819-1880) Was age 6 when he started on violin, at age 7 he secretly played cello. His parents thought he was too delicate to play it but prooved them wrong at a family party type thing. When he was older, he was emlpoyed at Opera Comique. He often got into lots of trouble with the authorities there because he liked playing pranks. Paganini: (1782-1840) Wasen't crazy at all. He was the best violinist ever. He ended up with cancer. In Paris, there were a lot of rumors going around about him. Some were: 1) he spent 8 years in prison 2) he murdered his mistress 3)that whenever he played, the devil was standing on his shoulder conducting. Schoenberg: (1874-1951) His music was so weird. He often had riots at the performances. A physican testified that the music was nerve racking. Strauss: (1864-1949) He liked drinking beer, playing card, dancing, and playing in sports. He was notoriously vain, and jealous of anyone who might be a revival. He was also scared of being poor. He'd fight over pennies. Wagner: (1813-1883) Where to begin....... He was a drunk, always got into trouble, he was forced into exile, I suggest you read about him on your own....I could go on forver about him.....he wasen't a good guy.... | |||||||||||||||||||||||
